What is the TEAS 7?

The ATI TEAS 7 (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is a standardized exam many nursing and allied health programs use in admissions. The scored portion has 150 questions across four areas: Reading (39 scored), Mathematics (34 scored), Science (44 scored), and English & Language Usage (33 scored). On the official computer exam, ATI also includes 20 unscored questions (field-test items) for 170 total — you will not know which are unscored.

Cut scores vary by school and cohort; many programs publish a minimum Adjusted Individual Score or composite. Always confirm targets with your program — we do not quote a single “passing” percentage.

What's on this free test?

This page is a short diagnostic: 12 questions, one per official subsection from the ATI content outline — same topic coverage breadth, not the same length, order, or timing as exam day. Items are written to be realistic for TEAS 7; they are not copied from ATI.

Subsections sampled (one question each)

  • Reading — Key Ideas & Details; Craft & Structure; Integration of Knowledge & Ideas
  • Math — Numbers & Algebra; Measurement & Data
  • Science — Human Anatomy & Physiology; Biology; Chemistry; Scientific Reasoning
  • English — Conventions of Standard English; Knowledge of Language; Vocabulary & General Knowledge

In this flow, questions run Reading, then Math, Science, and English — a teaching order, not an exact mirror of official section sequencing.

TEAS prep that matches how the exam works

AceTEAS includes thousands of practice items, full simulations, and adaptive sets that emphasize areas you miss — use those after this quick quiz to build depth and stamina, not a one-page “plan” alone.
